Structural Beam Replacements

Client: Fortescue Metals Group (FMG)

Service: SMP

Capability: Maintenance, Project Services

Industry: Mining and Resources

Scope of works

FMG enlisted Breight Group to replace the structural beams in the TLO (Temporary Loading Out) area at their Christmas Creek mining site. Key activities included installing temporary handrails and boarding for SIMOPS, removing existing beams, and the precision welding of new cleats to ensure structural integrity before Breight Group’s specialised workforce then set about efficiently installing all new beams, securing grating, and touch-up painting in a complete end to end maintenance service.

The entire process, from installation to QA documentation sign-off, was completed on time (can we give exact time?), safely, and without incidents. All temporary handrails and boarding were carefully removed upon completion.

Under Breight Group’s expert management, the project was executed seamlessly, adhering to the highest safety and efficiency standards the company has come to be known for. Full compliance with the QA management plan was maintained, with thorough non-destructive testing (NDT) ensuring the quality and integrity of all work completed. This project demonstrated Breight Group’s commitment to high-quality site maintenance, structural integrity, and professional mining labour hire for FMG operations
