Breight Group was contracted by Mineral Resources to supply and install three (3) identical coagulant dosing systems at the Wodgina site, with one system dedicated to each production train. This project was executed within a brownfield’s environment, requiring careful planning and execution to minimise disruptions to existing operations.
The scope of work included the supply and installation of new coagulant storage tanks and coagulant dosing & dilution skids, alongside the necessary piping installation for dilution water and dosing lines. The piping system was a mix of steel pipe spools and HDPE piping, with modifications made to existing piping and support systems to ensure optimal functionality. Additionally, structural works were carried out to support the new systems.
The Electrical and Instrumentation scope involved the supply and installation of new MCC modules and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) within the substation switch rooms, alongside the installation of a cable support system and associated cables for power, control, instrumentation, and data for each production train.
Breight Group self-performed all aspects of the project, including scaffolding, access requirements, and the full scope of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works. The project was carried out with a high level of attention to safety and quality, ensuring all works met the required standards. Full construction verification was conducted, and Breight Group provided continued support to the vendor commissioning team to ensure the system operated as intended.
