Scope of Work:

Breight Group was engaged by Rio Tinto to undertake a comprehensive upgrade of the Screen House at the Cape Lambert site. The project involved replacing liners and conducting structural repairs across six screens, all while adhering to a tight shutdown schedule over an 8-month period.

The scope of work encompassed several critical tasks. The team started by removing the rotable chutes and replacing the worn liners. Structural repairs were carried out on various beams using Rope Access technicians, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal safety. Non-destructive testing (NDT) was performed to verify the integrity of the work completed. After the structural repairs and liner replacements were completed, the rotable chutes were reinstated, and the system was fully commissioned.

Throughout the project, we ensured that all work was conducted within the specified timeframes and safety standards. Comprehensive quality documentation were provided, maintaining transparency and ensuring the project met the client’s requirements. The entire upgrade was executed without incidents, showcasing Breight Group’s commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency in completing complex maintenance tasks in challenging environments.
