Secondary Bins Replacement

Site: Boddington

Client: Newmont

Service: Scaffolding

Capability: Planning, Project Services, Maintenance

Industry: Mining and Resources

Scope of Work:

We were engaged by Newmont to replace the secondary bin walls at the Boddington site. Our approach was designed to ensure minimal disruption to operations while completing the required structural work efficiently and safely.

The scope of the project involved providing access to both the east and west walls of the secondary bins. We initially staggered the isolation of the belt feeders so we could erect overhead protection isolation decks. This step allowed the plant to continue running as usual while we began setting up the scaffolding.

Once the isolation decks were in place, we continued with the erection of scaffolding, which enabled us to replace the secondary bin walls without impacting the ongoing operations. Our careful planning and coordination ensured the project moved forward smoothly.

We completed the entire project without causing any downtime or disruptions to the plant, meeting all project requirements and timelines.

Key Activities Completed:

  • Provided access to both east and west bin walls
  • Staggered isolation of belt feeders to install overhead protection decks
  • Erected scaffolding while maintaining plant operations
  • Replaced secondary bin walls with minimal impact on production
  • Finished the project on time and safely, fully meeting Newmont’s requirements
