Underground Scaffold Installation

Site: Rom Wall

Client: Carter’s Engineering

Service: Scaffolding

Capability: Planning, Project Services, Underground

Industry: Mining and Resources

Scope of Work:

We completed a successful underground scaffold installation for a local client via our East Coast division at the primary crusher Rom Wall. The scaffolding was installed to provide safe and efficient access for an ongoing dust suppression project, which was critical to maintaining operational efficiency and safety.

Underground projects come with unique challenges, especially when it comes to scaffolding. Unlike above-ground projects, where scaffold yards provide easy access to materials, underground work requires meticulous planning and preparation. The site’s restricted access and limited opportunities for on-site resupply meant that every scaffolding component had to be carefully planned, prepared, and ready for immediate use.

With these challenges in mind, our team was fully prepared to meet the demands of the project, ensuring we selected the right equipment from the outset and made necessary provisions to complete the task smoothly.

Our experienced team worked closely with the client and other stakeholders to fully understand the site’s requirements and constraints. This collaboration allowed us to deliver a safe and efficient solution that met both safety and operational needs. Through effective planning and coordination, we ensured all materials and equipment were in place, and the project progressed without any disruptions to operations.

Key activities completed include:

  • Installing scaffolding on the primary crusher Rom Wall
  • Ensuring safe access for dust suppression works
  • Planning and coordinating materials and equipment for underground conditions
  • Completing the installation without disrupting operations
  • Delivering the project on time and with the highest safety standards
